1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”
Two of the most wonderful benefits of knowing and living for Christ are shown in the verse above. One is the wonderful benefit to human relationships. Two Christians, who actually live like Christians (i.e., “walk in the light” of the Word of God), will have a harmonious and blessed relationship. And it doesn’t matter who these two people are: husband and wife, parent and child, black and white, Arab and Israeli, Republican and Democrat, rich and poor, gifted and disabled, young and old – no matter what the differences, there is fellowship, love, and harmony between believers.
The other wonderful benefit of knowing and living for Christ is harmony in one’s relationship with God himself. The believer is cleansed from sin, forgiven, and restored to a relationship with his or her Creator. Guilt, fear, and animosity toward God and his Word are replaced with pure and wonderful forgiveness, trust, and love.
Thank you, Father, for the transforming miracle of your work in the human heart.
