Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”
What an awesome, wonderful, incredible promise we have in the verse above. It’s a promise of God’s guidance to each and every believer as we walk through this life. Notice it doesn’t say that He might instruct us and teach us, or that He could, but that He will. Aren’t you thankful for this? So often fear and doubt creep into our lives as we look down the road that’s before us. Often our lives seem to be just one decision after another, and many of those decisions are burdened by the seemingly innumerable “what ifs” in life. So often it seems that we don’t know enough and we obviously can’t see the future, so what in the world are we to do? How awesome it is then to know that God has staked His very name on the promise that He will counsel us with His all-seeing eye. How awesome to know that the God who sees the future, sees the big picture, and always sees what’s best for us has promised us that it is with such vision He will always lead us. How wonderful that He has told us in Psalm 23 that He is our Great Shepherd, Who will lead us in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we need fear no evil for God is with us. May God help us to stay very close to Him, to learn all we can from Him in His Word, and trust the many promises He has given us. They are sure promises from the God who alone knows the future and Who sees everything at all times. What a precious truth to know that it is with those wonderful eyes that He counsels and leads us whether we see what’s ahead of us or not.
