Genesis 3:1-5 “Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’”But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Dear friends:
Did God actually say “In six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day (Exodus 20:11)”? You don’t actually believe that, do you?! Don’t you realize that scientists have proved that the earth is billions of years old and everything in it wasn’t created – it evolved over millions of years. Only an uninformed backwoods hillbilly would believe anything else!
Did God actually say “God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female He created them (Genesis 1:27)?” Don’t you realize that your gender is up to you, not someone else?! You can be whatever and whomever you choose to be. Diversity is something to be celebrated, not quashed!
Does God’s Word actually say “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them (Psalm 139:13-16)”? And did He actually say “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)”? Listen – that blob of tissue within your womb is not a life. It’s totally up to you what you do with it. It’s your body and it’s your choice.
Did God actually say “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it (Matthew 7:13-14)”? How narrow that thinking is! Everyone knows that all paths lead to heaven. All religions are basically the same.
Did God actually say “All our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment (Isaiah 64:6)” and “by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight (Romans 3:20)”? That should offend you if anything ever did! Everyone knows that if you live a good life you’ll go to heaven when you die.
Did God actually say “The unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)”? That’s all nonsense! Everyone knows that God is a God of love, and He would never condemn people that love each other sincerely. Everyone will eventually go to heaven, no matter how they’ve lived and no matter what they’ve believed. Yes, God is a God of love!
Did God actually say “The law of the Lord is perfect (Psalm 119:7)”? Are you kidding me? Everyone knows that the Bible is just a book written by men. Any book passed down over so many centuries is full of errors. It just has to be!
Did God actually say “Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell (Matthew 10:28)? How ridiculous! Go ahead and wear that t-shirt, and show everyone that you are one who has “NO FEAR!”
Did God actually say “Be sure your sin will find you out (Numbers 32:23)”? Well, no one has found out yet! Isn’t it nice to have gotten away with it? And those guilt feelings – they’re nothing but your enemy. You’re a wonderful person. Nobody’s perfect, you know.
Did God actually say “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it (Jeremiah 17:9)?” What an attack that is on your self-esteem! You’re a wonderful person. Whatever you think is as good as what anyone else thinks. How could it not be? You’re just as good as (and probably even better than) the next guy!
Did God actually say “The day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed (2 Peter 3:10)”? That’ll never happen. It hasn’t happened yet and look at how long ago those words were written!
Did God actually say “This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:11-12)”? How can that be? Jesus was just a man (that is, if He ever even existed). How could what Jesus said over 2,000 years ago have any significance whatsoever to us in this day and age? And how could anyone be so proud as to think that they are the only way?!
With best and sincere wishes,
Lucifer, son of the morning! (a.k.a., that old serpent, and the Father of Lies)
