Matthew 1:18, 22-23 “Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit . . . All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: ‘Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel.’”
There is only one Savior of the world. He is One like no other, for He alone was born of a virgin. He alone was born of God. That’s an impossibility in human terms, but a definite fact in God’s terms. It was God who foretold Jesus’ virgin birth through the prophet Isaiah approximately 700 years before it occurred. And it was God who prophesied hundreds of other details about Jesus’ life, death and resurrection through hundreds of other prophesies throughout the Old Testament. God further confirmed Jesus’ identity as the Messiah through His supernatural messages to Joseph, Mary, Elizabeth, the shepherds, the wise men, Elizabeth, Annas, Simeon, and John the Baptist. And He further confirmed His identity by His own supernatural audible words at the moment of Jesus’ baptism. Of course, Jesus also confirmed the truth of who He was by His own words, His many miracles, His death, and His resurrection. It is Jesus alone Who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. There is only One Savior, and there is only one gospel message about Him.
Sadly, most people have rejected this message, and by that rejection they have rejected Christ. Yet, there is still only One Savior no matter what men may say. All religions don’t lead to God. All so-called “truths” are not true, and no other religious leader will save anyone from their sins. There is only One.
So do you know this One like no other? Do you know the Savior of the World? Regardless of what you might believe, regardless of whose teaching you may follow, regardless of your opinion, there is only One Savior. And the wonderful truth is that this Savior has come to “save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).
So, what about you? Have you been saved from your sins? If not, there’s no better time than right now, at this very moment. This could be the time when the gift of Jesus to the world can become your own personal gift. It’s an indescribable gift – the gift of eternal life, but it must be received for you to have it. That’s the way it’s always been, and the way it will always will be, for “He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:11-13).
Jesus: He was born of God – and this very day you can be born of God too. It’s called the new birth. It’s called being born again. It’s a miracle of Christmas for all who will receive the miracle of Christmas, Jesus, the Only Savior of the world.
